Cumberland Medical Center’s Outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program is recognized for its excellence in clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
With two locations, patients can receive high quality care that is convenient to them. Licensed therapists, who often hold advanced specialty certifications, provide one-on-one care for patients at each visit so they can achieve greater results in fewer visits.
Specialized Therapies include:
Aquatic Therapy is physical rehabilitation provided in the water to minimize overall impact, intensity, and discomfort.
Certified Hand Therapy
Certified Hand Therapy focuses on rehabilitation of the upper limb, which includes the hand, wrist, and elbow to help improve upper limb function and activity.
LSVT Certified Therapy (for Parkinson’s disease)
LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Training) LOUD and LSVT BIG program helps those with Parkinson’s disease improve movement and range of motion, improve vocal loudness and speech intelligibility, increase facial expression, and improve confidence.
Lymphedema Management helps offset the effect that occurs when the lymph node system is damaged or blocked, which often causes fluid to build up in soft body tissues and cause swelling.
An Occupational Therapist provides treatments aimed at restoring and enhancing functional independence and preventing disability.
Physical Therapy services are aimed at issues relating to bones, muscles, nerves and tendons in the body. These services may be needed if an injury has occurred, or when disease is impacting the body.
Speech Therapists screen, assess and treat children and adults for a variety of communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
