CMC’s Fairfield Glade Wellness Block Party, Health Fair

Wednesday, September 13 from 7 to 11 a.m.

Missy Kane PhotoCumberland Medical Center will hold a Fairfield Glade Wellness Block Party and Health Fair on Wednesday, September 13 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will kickoff at the CMC Medical Arts Building located at 130 Stonehenge Drive in Fairfield Glade.

It will include a variety of health screenings, information, free drug take back, and a guided hike with Missy Kane, Covenant Health fitness advocate, who is an Olympic runner and a member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. As well as a Knee Pain & Discomfort presentation by Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Darren Barton.

No appointments are necessary. Free of charge will be: Blood Pressure, Glucose Finger Sticks, Grip Strength Test, and Pulse Oximetry Readings.

The following Lab Work will be available for $15 each: ABO & Rh Blood Type, Blood Type, a fasting Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CPM), Hemoglobin A1C (Diabetic Screening), and a fasting Lipid Profile. B-12 Level and Folic Acid (Folate) are $25 each; PSA prostate screening is $27; Thyroid Profile is $40; Free and Total Testosterone Levels is $45; and Vitamin D screening is $50. Mammograms will also be available and insurance for them will be billed accordingly. Please note: cash, checks or credit card payments for screenings will be accepted at time of service.

Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD will provide complimentary paraffin hand dips to help soothe and moisturize hands, and Nature’s Way Massage will offer free mini-massages.

Cumberland County Sherriff’s Department will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back station on the Medical Arts Building patio to assist those who need to properly dispose of unwanted and/or outdated medications. This is a free community service.

In support of this month’s Cumberland County Hiking Marathon, Covenant Health fitness advocate Missy Kane will join Friends of the Glade Trails at 10 a.m. for a two mile hike of the new and improved Overlook Trail. Hikers are encouraged to meet at the patio of the Medical Arts Building to carpool to the site. The Hiking Marathon encourages all fitness levels to get out and discover the outdoors by accumulating 13.1 or 26.2 miles. It is free of charge with an online registration.

Additional health information will be onsite from CMC’s Breast Center, Cancer Center, Cardiac/Cardiopulmonary Rehab, Diabetes Center, Endoscopy Center, Lifeline Medical Alert System, Sleep Disorders Center, Wellness Complex, and Wound Care. Additional information will also be Crossville Medical Group, Cumberland Orthopedics, Fairfield Glade Resident Services, Friends of the Glade Trails, Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, Lifeline, Gray Chiropractic, Eye Centers of Tennessee, Sam’s Club, and Tennessee Urology Associates.

Immediately following the health fair at noon on Wednesday, September 13, Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Darren Barton with Cumberland Orthopedics will present “Knee Pain & Discomfort” at the Fairfield Glade Conference Center located at 128 Stonehenge Drive.
