Eight Cumberland County residents have officially accepted the Healthier U Challenge. They were selected through an application process with Healthier Tennessee and Cumberland Medical Center’s Wellness Complex to improve their overall health and endurance.
The Healthier U team includes: Jeanie Williams, Liz Spivey, Tammie French, Holly Neal, Donna Smith, Amanda Dearmon, Harry Beck, and Jim Dolan.
“Getting regular physical activity can increase your energy levels, improve your mood and reduce your risk of disease,” said Healthier Tennessee’s Colleen Wright. “This challenge is a great way to get started on the path to a healthier lifestyle.”
The challenge will officially begin in April after their individual fitness evaluations are complete. Their progress will be followed as they celebrate milestones towards making themselves a Healthier U. In support of the effort, each person received complimentary membership to the CMC Wellness Complex where they will also receive individual training and group exercise training.
“We’re excited to rollout the Healthier U Challenge,” said Charlotte Walker, CMC Wellness Complex Manager. “Our mission is to serve the community by improving the quality of life through better health.”
The team will conquer their challenge by participating in the Panther Dash 5K on Saturday, November 11 at Stone Memorial High School.
The team’s progress will be shared and posted with us at www.cmchealthcare.org.
