Cumberland Medical Center Cancer Center Senior Medical Physicist, Ivan Cordrey, Ph.D., DABR, was recently awarded “Best Publication” by the Southeast Chapter of the
American Association of Physicists in Medicine at chapter’s annual meeting. This recognition honored works he published in 2022. This southeast chapter for physicists includes professionals located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Dr. Cordrey was invited to the annual meeting of SEAAPM in Huntsville, Alabama along with his chief collaborator Dr. Dharmin Desai. At the meeting Dr. Cordrey presented a five minute talk describing the research results in Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) of cranial tumors. This paper was the subject of a Thompson Cancer Survival Center blog post in Spring 2022. The article was published in March issue of the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics.
