Friday, September 30 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Cumberland Medical Center will host a community open house on Friday, Sept. 30 from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening of the hospital’s newly renovated Emergency Department. The event will include guided tours of the new ED and marks the completion of the $6.3 million expansion that began last October.
CMC’s Emergency Department Expansion includes:
- More than 17,000 square feet of new space
- 25 new private patient exam rooms
- Designated rooms for trauma and cardiac care
- Capacity to treat up to 44,000 patients annually
During construction, Cumberland’s emergency department has remained open, treating 34,000 patients annually. The expansion will create more than 17,000 square feet of new space, including 25 new private patient exam rooms, each equipped with heart-monitoring capabilities. Some rooms will be designated for specialized treatment such as trauma or cardiac care. Once complete, the new ED will have capacity to treat up to 44,000 patients annually and meet the growing needs of the plateau community.
“Covenant Health has continued to show its commitment to CMC and Cumberland County,” says David Bunch, president and chief administrative officer of the hospital. “This project represents a significant investment for our community and patients for years to come. We are blessed to have such an incredible facility in our community, and the support of Covenant Health in this project has been tremendous.”
The open house event will allow the public to view the new Emergency Department prior to its opening for patients the following day. The community is invited to attend and refreshments will be served. For more information, please call (931) 459-4262.
