Community Complex Health Fair May 18

Cumberland Medical Center and Fair Park Senior Center’s Community Health Fair is on Thursday, May 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It will be held at the Community Complex located at 1398 Livingston Road in Crossville.

To assist those who need to properly dispose of unwanted and/or outdated medications, Cumberland County Sherriff’s Department will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back station.Dr. Umang Shah This is a free community service.

Interventional Cardiologist, Umang Shah, MD with Cardiology Associates of East Tennessee will provide a Heart Health presentation at noon. There will also be fun-filled activities like bingo, line dancing, and Zumba onsite leading up to the talk.

A variety of health screenings will be offered from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.  FREE of charge will be: Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximetry Readings, and Glucose Finger Sticks. Lab work for $15 each include: a fasting Complete Blood Count, ABO & Rh Blood Type, B12, Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, Hemoglobin A1C, and a fasting Lipid Profile. PSA prostate screening is $27; Thyroid Profile is $40, and Vitamin D screening is $50. Please note: cash, checks or credit card payments for screenings will be accepted at time of service.

The health fair will include several Cumberland Medical Center departments such as its cancer center, cardiopulmonary, diabetes services, hyperbaric and wound care, physical medicine, Regional Breast Center, sleep services, and the Wellness Complex.  There will also be a variety of information from the following community health partners: Avalon Hospice, Beltone, Buckeye, Cumberland Heights, Cumberland County Sherriff’s Office, Health Department, Caris, CPR Alumni, Inc., Crossville Medical Group, Dominion Senior Living, Good Samaritan Society, Gray Chiropractic, Life Care Center of Crossville, Nature’s Way Massage, Quality Home Health, Resp-I-Care, Sams Club, Senior Perspectives, Tennessee College of Applied Technology, Uplands Village, and Wyndridge.
