CMC to Hold Mammogram Party, Dinner for Breast Cancer Awareness

Posted on October 11, 2018

Tuesday, October 16

Annual mammograms can help save a woman’s life. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ladies Night Out 2018so there is no better time to schedule a screening mammogram and learn more about breast health.
The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammogram screenings for women over the age of 40. Detecting breast cancer early on can help improve one’s survival, before the cancer has a chance to spread to other areas of the body.

Cumberland Medical Center’s Regional Breast Center is hosting a free Ladies Night Out on Tuesday, October 16 to promote breast awareness and encourage ladies to get their mammograms. There will be two separate events held so ladies can choose to drop by or stay awhile and enjoy a fun environment in support of breast health.

A Mammogram Party will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. in CMC’s Regional Breast Center located at the hospital. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary paraffin hand dips, mini-chair massages, mini-manicures, and refreshments. Screening mammograms will be provided on a first-come basis for women 40 and over who have not been evaluated within the past year; however, appointments are preferred and can be made by calling (931) 459-7368. Most insurances are accepted.

The party will be followed by a 6 p.m. Dinner with our Doctors, a special evening with our region’s cancer-fighting team. From radiology and pathology to surgery and treatment, the latest advances in technology and medical care will be discussed in support of breast health.

Detection is the best protection. Cumberland Medical Center Board Certified Radiologist Dr. David Derr, an expert in breast health, will lead the discussion. Together, along with CMC’s cancer-fighting physician team, they aim to empower women with knowledge that will help them best manage their care and treatment. Seats are limited and the dinner is complimentary. RSVPs for Dinner with our Doctors are required and can be made by calling (931) 459-7368.

For more information, please call (931) 459-7368.
