Tuesday, October 15
Cumberland Medical Center will host a fun-filled evening in support of breast health on Tuesday, October 15. Annual mammograms can help save a woman’s life. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so there is no better time to schedule a screening mammogram and learn more about breast health.
The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammogram screenings for women over the age of 40; especially if they have a family history of breast cancer. Detecting breast cancer early-on can help improve one’s survival, before the cancer has a chance to spread to other areas of the body.
Ladies Night Out promotes breast awareness and encourages ladies to get their mammograms. There will be two separate events held so ladies can choose to drop by or stay awhile and enjoy a fun environment in support of breast health.
A Mammogram Party will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. in CMC’s Breast Center located at the hospital. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary mini-chair massages, mini-manicures, and refreshments. Screening mammograms will be provided on a first-come basis for women 40 and over who have not been evaluated within the past year; however, appointments are preferred and can be made by calling (931) 459-7368. Most insurances are accepted. To access the CMC Breast Center, enter at the hospital’s Main Entrance on Cleveland Street and park at the pink ribbon.
Dinner with Our Doctors
The mammogram party will be followed by a 6 p.m. Dinner with our Doctors, a special evening with our region’s cancer-fighting team in the hospital’s conference center located on the second floor. From radiology and surgery, to treatments, the latest advances in technology and medical care will be discussed in support of breast health.
Board Certified Radiologist Dr. Lindsay Luttrell, an expert breast health, will lead the discussion. Detection is the best protection. Together, along with CMC’s cancer-fighting physician team, they aim to empower women with knowledge that will help them best manage their care and treatment. Seats are limited and the dinner is complimentary; however RSVPs for Dinner with our Doctors is required and can be made by calling (931) 459-7368.
Every Woman. Every Year.
Statistically, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. To help you take charge of your breast health, Cumberland Medical Center offers comprehensive breast imaging services with 3D mammography at two locations. Women can call (931) 459-7040 to schedule mammograms at either the hospital’s Breast Center in Crossville or at the Medical Arts Building in Fairfield Glade. CMC’s breast center provides a nurse navigator to help serve as a liaison between the patient, various health care providers, and resources within our community. The center is designated by the American College of Radiology as a Mammography Accredited Facility. For more information, please visit www.cmchealthcare.org or call (931) 459-7368.
