Enjoy health screenings and much more March 8th!
Cumberland Medical Center will hold its Fairfield Glade Wellness Block Party and Health Fair on Wednesday, March 8 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. It will be held at the CMC Medical Arts Building located at 130 Stonehenge Drive in Fairfield Glade.
There will be a variety of Health Screenings and no appointments are necessary. FREE of charge will be: Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximetry Readings, Glucose Finger Sticks, Lung Function (spirometry), and Bone Density. Lab work for $15 each include: a fasting Complete Blood Count, ABO & Rh Blood Type, Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, Hemoglobin A1C, and a fasting Lipid Profile. PSA prostate screening is $27; Thyroid Profile is $40, and Vitamin D screening is $50. Mammograms will also be available and insurance for them will be billed accordingly. Please note: cash, checks or credit card payments for screenings will be accepted at time of service.
Medic Regional Blood Center will host a mobile bus blood drive from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. All donors will receive a Medic t-shirt and a coupon for a Texas Roadhouse appetizer. For more questions or more information on blood donation, contact Medic at (865) 524-3074.
Cumberland County Sherriff’s Department will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back station to assist those who need to properly dispose of unwanted and/or outdated medications. This is a free community service.
Additional health information will be available from Cumberland Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary & Cardiac Rehab, Diabetes Center, Sleep Center, Endoscopy Outpatient Center, Hyperbaric & Wound Care, Lifeline Medical Alert System, Regional Breast Center, and Regional Cancer Center. Additional health partners include Crossville Medical Group, Dr. Tamara Collins, Fairfield Glade Resident Services, Friends of the Trails, Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD offering FREE paraffin hand dips, Good Samaritan Society, HealthierTN, and Tennessee Urology Associates.
Immediately following the health fair on Wednesday, March 8, Missy Kane will present “Get Fit & Get Checked: Overcoming Cancer with Prevention” at the Fairfield Glade Community Center at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served. RSVPs are requested by Monday, March 6 to 459-4262. Kane will help lead an optional group hike with the Friends of the Trails following the presentation.
