CMC Fairfield Glade Wellness Block Party and Health Fair

Fairfield Glade Health Fair Oct. 25Join Cumberland Medical Center at the CMC Wellness Complex & Medical Arts Building located at 130 Stonehenge Drive in Fairfield Glade for its Wellness Block Party and Health Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The event will start at 7 a.m. and include a variety of health screenings, presentations, free paraffin hand dips, and much more!

Health screenings will be offered in the Medical Arts Building from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. No appointments are necessary. FREE of charge will be: Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximetry Readings, Glucose Finger Sticks, and Bone Density. Lab work for $15 each include: a fasting Complete Blood Count, ABO & Rh Blood Type, Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, Hemoglobin A1C, and a fasting Lipid Profile. PSA prostate screening is $27; Thyroid Profile is $40, and Vitamin D screening is $50. Mammograms will also be available and insurance will be billed accordingly. Please note cash, checks or credit card payments for screenings will be accepted at time of service.

Three separate presentations will be held at the CMC Wellness Complex in support of diabetes education. At 8 a.m., Linda Hassler, RD will lead “Cooking with Diabetes” session. David Manestar, PT with CMC Physical Medicine will present “Diabetes and Exercise” and Michael Patterson, DO with East Tennessee Eye Centers will focus on “Diabetes and Eye Disease” at 10 a.m. These sessions are FREE; however space is limited. Missy Kane will kick off a guided hike with the Friends of the Trails at 11 a.m. Those interested are encouraged to gather on the main patio walkway between the buildings. Light snacks will be provided in advance of the approximate 45-minute hike.
Cumberland County Sherriff’s Department will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back station to assist those who need to properly dispose of unwanted and/or outdated medications.

Medic Regional Blood Center will host a mobile bus blood drive from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. All donors will receive a FREE movie ticket, Medic t-shirt, and coupon for a Texas Roadhouse appetizer. For more questions or more information on blood donation, contact Medic at (865) 524-3074.
