Cumberland Medical Center announced the promotion of April VonAchen to vice president of financial services and chief financial officer.

Cumberland Medical Center announced the promotion of April VonAchen to vice president of financial services and chief financial officer. She has served as the hospital’s controller since 2014.

VonAchen has worked for Covenant Health since 2008. Prior to her role as controller at the hospital, she worked as an accountant for Covenant Health corporate and at sister facility Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She also served as a service line financial analyst for Covenant Health’s cardiology service line.

VonAchen holds a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a focus in accounting and human resources, and a master of business administration with a concentration in healthcare administration from King University.

“As a Wartburg Central High School graduate, I have a great appreciation for serving in a rural community.  I love the hometown feel of Crossville and I am grateful to be a more integral part of the Cumberland Medical Center team,” says VonAchen.

In addition to financial responsibilities at Cumberland Medical Center, VonAchen will oversee information technology, medical records, patient access, materials management, hospital employed physicians, and medical equipment services.

She and her husband, Shaun, have two children, Kara, 10, and Kade, 6. Together, they enjoy various church, school, and sport related activities.
