10th ANNUAL SENIOR HEALTH AND INSPIRATION DAY

On Thursday, June 25, 2009, Cumberland Medical Center, the Silver Servants of Linary Church of Christ, and the Fair Park Senior Center will present the 10th Annual Senior Health and Inspiration Day at the Cumberland County Community Complex located at 1398 Livingston Road in Crossville. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and refreshments.

Health screenings for blood pressure, colon cancer, and diabetes will be offered, as well as many exhibits, door prizes, and a free lunch. Guest speakers include Dr. David Litchford, Ophthamologist; Dr. Vincent Longobardo, Doctor of Podiatry Medicine; Dr. Vianney Villaruz, Cardiologist; Dr. Stephen Clark, Internist; and Dr. Barry Wagner, CMC Chief Medical Officer. The doctors will speak about the complications of diabetes and how it affects the eye, foot, heart, and overall impact on the body. Dr. Wagner will speak about Shingles, also known as Herpes Zoster, a painful skin rash that appears on one side of the face or body and lasts from 2 to 4 weeks.

Health screenings for blood pressure, colon cancer, mini massages, and diabetes will be offered. The main exhibits will provide lots of information. Shingles Vaccine will be available on site or attendees can make an appointment for the vaccine. The cost is $250.00.
