DIRECT ADMISSION BEGINS AT CMC IN FEBRUARY

Cumberland Medical Center has undergone some major changes during the past year to make its patients and visitors more comfortable and to make healthcare more accessible. Another new service being offered to the patients effective Monday, February 5th, is direct admission for inpatients.

The goal of the program is for the patient to present for admission to the New Admissions Area located off Cleveland Street between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday where a guest services representative will greet them. A patient representative will take the patient directly to the room that has already been pre-assigned to them. This will alleviate patients having to wait in the lobby to be admitted.

Any additional patient information that is needed will be obtained once the patient is made comfortable in his/her room. “This direct admission process is another way that Cumberland Medical Center is striving to make each patient’s experience at CMC a positive one. Our key to success will be working in conjunction with the physician to have the information before the patient comes to the hospital for admission,” said Lisa Hild, Director of Patient Access at Cumberland Medical Center.

This direct admission service will be available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for any patient whose physician has notified the Admitting Department personnel prior to their arrival and pending bed availability.
