CUMBERLAND MEDICAL CENTER WELLNESS COMPLEX FACILITIES WIN NATIONAL AWARD

The Wellness Complex facilities owned and operated by Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville and Fairfield Glade were recently awarded a Distinguished Achievement Award by the Medical Fitness Association in the less than 20,000 square feet division and the 20,000 – 50,000 square feet facility division respectively.

“It is certainly an honor for our facilities to be recognized by the Medical Fitness Association. We take pride in both facilities and what we are offering the residents of this community to benefit their total health and wellness. I am very proud of both staffs and the commitments they have made to make each member’s visit a pleasant one regardless of the facility they choose,” said Jim McMackin, President/CEO of Cumberland Medical Center.

Cumberland Medical Center opened its Crossville location in March, 1997. The facility is 13,000 square feet and has 2,309 individual members. The average age of the Crossville complex membership is 52. The location offers Cardiac Rehab Phase III, Diabetes Education, and Medical Screenings in addition to the fitness and workout area.

Cumberland Medical Center at Fairfield Glade was opened in July, 2003. The facility as a whole is 25,000 square feet and is home for the Wellness Complex, Patient Financial Services office, Mammography suite, and a Physical Therapy division. The Wellness Complex encompasses 20,000 square feet, and the Fitness Area section is 6,000 square feet of the 25,000 square feet total. There are approximately 2,000 members of the Wellness Complex and the average age of its member is 67.

Through the two facilities, members are offered personal training sessions, weight management classes led by a registered dietitian, various support groups and seminars on a wide range of topics relevant to health and fitness, certified aerobic and aquatic instructors, licensed massage therapists, and much more.
