FREEDOM FROM SMOKING CLASSES TO BE OFFERED AT CUMBERLAND MEDICAL CENTER

Cumberland Medical Center in conjunction with the Cumberland County Health Department is pleased to offer the Freedom from Smoking Clinic Program to the community beginning Thursday, October 5th.

The seven-week program is FREE and is nationally endorsed by the American Lung Association. The facilitators for the program are Timothy R. Henion, RRT, from Cumberland Medical Center and Ruth Lucas of the Health Department. Classes will meet each Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Medical Center in the Conference Center on the 2nd floor, Room C. The program is a gradual process with the first meeting being dedicated to the decision process to quit smoking. Week 1 is ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM. Week 2 is WANTING TO QUIT. Week 3 is QUIT DAY! Week 4 is WINNING STRATEGIES. Week 5 is THE NEW YOU! Week 6 is STAYING OFF and the program culminates with Week 7 and CELEBRATION! This session will deal with relapse prevention and will also include a special graduation ceremony set for Thursday, November 16th.
