FIRST BABIES BORN IN CMC MATERNITY SUITES

On Wednesday, May 31st, Cumberland Medical Center opened its new Maternity Suites and admitted its first patients to that area.  Located on the third floor of the new five-story tower, the 12 maternity suites offer state-of-the-art equipment to expectant mothers and families of the region.

Each labor and delivery suite is a comfortable size room that includes a private bathroom for the patient, and each suite is a full labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum room.  The maternity suite and nursery area is a secured area with badge swipe access for the security of all patients and newborns.

In celebration of the day, the first patient admitted to the new suites and the first patient to deliver in the suites were presented rocking chairs from Cracker Barrel by Dr. Kimberly Claypool, Dr. Lou MacManus, Dr. Dale Perrigan, Dr. David Pitts, and Dr. Dana Teagarden.

Pictured from left to right are:  Seated: Dedra Rhody was the first patient admitted to the CMC Maternity Suites. Cumberland Medical Center congratulates both families and looks forward to serving the community in the new Maternity Suites and private patient rooms.
