CMC STROKE SUPPORT GROUP MEETING PLANNED FOR NOVEMBER 16TH

Christine M. Barnett, OTR/L, CAPS, will be the guest speaker at the November Stroke Support Group meeting to be held Wednesday, November 16th, at 2:00 p.m. The Stroke Support Group meets monthly at Cumberland Medical Center’s Fairfield Glade Wellness Complex.

The topic for this meeting will be adapting the home for safety and independence emphasizing the stroke population and their specific needs. Christine has 15 years of experience an Occupational Therapist and has also received intensive training from the National Association of Home Builders achieving designation as a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS). Christine is trained to address structural barriers and recommend modifications in existing homes and new construction to optimize and individual’s independence and safety for optimal quality of life. Christine works full time at Cumberland Medical Center in the Occupational Therapy Department as well as owns her own home accessibility consultation business, Accessibility Solutions.
