ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE DISASTER DRILL RESCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2005

In conjunction with all city and county emergency agencies, Cumberland Medical Center would like to announce to the public that during the morning of Tuesday, October 18th, 2005, the annual community-wide disaster drill will be held.

Called EXERCISE 2005, this event will simulate an emergency situation which will test the city and county emergency agencies as well as Cumberland Medical Center and its emergency response systems. “We wanted to alert the public to the exercise so in the event that they saw excessive emergency traffic or heard excessive sirens, they would not be alarmed. This is a drill and is used to prepare all agencies in the case of a true disaster or mass emergency situation,” said Julie V. Thompson, Director of Public Relations & Communications for Cumberland Medical Center.

EXERCISE 2005 is planned for Tuesday morning, October 18th, 2005, and is only a drill.
