Education Classes for 2008

BLS
BLS for Healthcare Provider will be taught this year as
part of Nursing Education Day. Anyone who is not scheduled to attend
nursing education day can contact the Clinical Education Department
at (931) 459-7119 to inquire about classes.
Non-CMC employees can contact Industrial Medicine regarding classes at (931)
459-7246.
ACLS
One Day Re-certification dates: 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m.
November - Monday 24
Requirements for course: Current BLS HCP status/card and ACLS Provider
current status/card. Experienced providers are expected to arrive "test
ready". Remediation
will be at a minimum. Please encourage less experienced staff to attend a two
day course even if they are recertifying.
Two Day Course dates: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. both days:
January - Thursday 17 and Friday 18
March - Thursday 27 and Friday 28
May - Thursday 17 and Friday 18
September - Thursday 25 and Friday 26
The two day course will focus on the initial provider and not provide testing
opportunities for experienced staff on the first day. Experienced providers
may test only on the secnd day of a two day course. Experienced providers for
ACLS are expected to arrive "test ready". We
will have condensed lecture and move into testing by the afternoon. Remediation
should be at a minimum.
It is the registrant's responsibility to pick up their course materials and return
them to the Education Department. Non-CMC participants are required to
bring a textbook to class, however we will provide a study packet.
Cost is $100 to outside participants for either the one or two day class. A
Non-Refundable deposit is required.
PALS
February - Thursday 21 and Friday 22
April - Thursday 10 and Friday 22
August - Thursday 28 and Friday 29
October - Thursday 2 and Friday 3
Class is
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. This is a two day class.
Recerts - day 2 only. Cost is $100 to outside participants. A
Non-Refundable deposit is required.
TNCC
February - Thursday 7 and Friday 8
Class size is
limited. CMC staff who have this as a job
requirement will be given first preferance. Class is 8:00 am
to 4:00 pm both days. Cost is $125 for outside participants.
A Non-Refundable deposit is required.
